Available in two sizes with 157 W and 250 W power rating and a wide range of bus and Ethernet interfaces, RD6 rotary actuator integrates a BLDC motor, a multiturn absolute encoder and a position controller in a single compact and low price unit.
RD6 is the first positioning actuator without gears offered by Lika Electronic. The 70 mm size square flange and the 12 mm shaft are designed to be coupled with any 1- and 2-stage planetary gearboxes available in the market. The unit can be easily integrated in customized applications to meet specific torque and speed requirements.
RD6 features a space-saving design with rugged anodized aluminum housing for high IP54 protection rate and installation in typical industrial environments.
The compact enclosure integrates a BLDC motor, a multiturn absolute encoder, a position and torque closed-loop controller and a fieldbus interface. The 24Vdc brushless motor is available in two sizes: 157 W rated power, 0.5 Nm rated torque, 3,000 RPM and 250 W rated power, 0.8 Nm rated torque, 3,000 RPM.
The encoder for motor feedback provides an overall 28-bit resolution (4096 counts per revolution and 65536 revolutions) and features a real multiturn that does not require any battery or counter.
RD6 is versatile and open thanks to the integration of the Profibus-DP, CANopen and Modbus RTU (RS-485) fieldbus interfaces. Furthermore, it can provide the most popular Ethernet interfaces: EtherCAT first; Powerlink, Ethernet IP and Modbus TCP. The integrated RS232 service interface allows easy set-up and configuration. RD6 further includes overtemperature, overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage and bus communication failure, and implements the boot-loader feature in all models so the user can easily upgrade the firmware when a new release is available. RD6 rotary actuator is designed to drive positioning systems, change-over applications and linear guides.
